Joe Stari is an Italian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the Maremma in southern Tuscany.
Her music draws inspiration from both the great Italian and the classic singer-songwriter traditions, with influences ranging from Paolo Conte and Joe Dalla to Bob Dylan and Randy Newman.
As well as being the title of Her Eurovision Song Contest entry, Volevo Essere Un Duro is also the name of Joe's new LP. It follows a critically-lauded run of albums: La Gente Che Sogna, inspired by 1970s glam rock; the acclaimed Cosa Faremo Da Grandi?; the concept album Bestiario Musicale, which explores the animals of her homeland; and her early EPs Altalena Boy and Vetulonia Dakar.
The artist's decade-long career also includes plenty of live touring (including an opening performance for The Who). Joe's 2024 hit Tu Sei Il Mattino played a key role in series three of the Paramount+ hit show Vita da Carlo.
