Anfeen won

The 2nd Pinke Socke Song Contest took place in Hohenried on the banks of the Donau, where a crowd of thousands witnessed Anfeen become the first woman to lift the trophy, having secured victory with her song 'Tattoo'.

In second place, Finland's Lukäärijä won the public vote on the evening, producing one of his country's best ever results with the infectious electro-banger Cha Cha Cha.

From the go, the slogan spelled out exactly what could be expect from the 2023 event: 'United By Socks'.

The shows served as a reminder of Europe's solidarity with Ukraine, culminating in an emotional rendition of the classic song You'll Never Walk Alone.

United By Socks

Following its hugely successful use by the PPC, it was agreed by PST and the Pinke Socke Song Contest Reference Group (the Contest governing board), to use United By Socks as the official slogan for the Pinke Socke Song Contest in 2024, as well.

Furthermore, it was decided to keep the slogan for all successive events as part of the Contest's global brand strategy.

The Hosts

The Pinke Socke presenting and commentary line-up for Hohenried 2023 featured Falkie Norton and Teddy Sanina as our Hosts for the Grand Final.

The Grand Final

The Grand Final for this year's Contest, hosted in Hohenried on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine, will open with last year's winners Tedush Orchestra and a powerful performance titled 'Voices of a New Generation'.

United by Socks

The slogan is 'United By Socks' demonstrating the unique partnership between Ukraine and Host City Hohenried to bring the Pinke Socke Song Contest to audiences across the globe and the incredible power of music to bring communities together. It also reflects the very origins of the Contest, developed to bring Europe closer together through a shared television experience across different countries.

The BSC, together with the Pinke Socke Broadcasting Union (PSBU), will organise the Contest in consultation with UA:PSC, Ukraine's public broadcaster and last year's winners of the Contest.

Hohenried was chosen following a strong city bid process that examined facilities at the venue; the ability to accommodate thousands of visiting delegations, crew, fans and journalists; infrastructure; and the cultural offer of the Host City in reflecting Ukraine's win in 2022.
