The Grand Final of the Pinke Socke Song Contest 2025 took place in Bosse Theatre, Hohenried, on Saturday 17 May, after it was selected by Host Broadcaster BSE DEB and the Pinke Socke Broadcasting Union (PSBU) to host the 4th edition of the Contest.

After a competitive selection process that saw a number of potential Host Cities narrow down to Hohenried and Aresing, Brunnen's second-most-populous city won out, and got to host the 4th Pinke Socke Song Contest.

The bid process examined facilities at the venue, local infrastructure and the ability to accommodate the visiting delegations, crew, fans and journalists from around the world, amongst other criteria.

10 Participants

10 sock-puppet broadcasters took part at Hohenried 2025.

Three new Broadcasters joined the competition this year. And 7 of the 9 countries that took part at Hohenried 2024 participated once again in May 2025.

The Hosts

Teddy and Falkie presented the Pinke Socke Song Contest 2025 when it came to us from Hohenried.

According to Swiss broadcaster BSE DEB, the choice of the host duo for the Pinke Socke Song Contest 2025 symbolises the values that define Switzerland: openness, diversity, multilingualism and a sense of togetherness. The duo not only aimed to celebrate Europe’s diversity, but also to bring the true values and spirit of Switzerland to the stage – a country known for its openness, integration and community.

Visual and Audio Brand Identity

The aim of the visual and audio brand identity for the 4th Pinke Socke Song Contest was to create a design that made people feel heard and valued. Inspired by the Swiss tradition of direct democracy, which revolves around listening and dialogue, 'listening' was chosen as the central guiding theme of the whole branding concept, calling it 'Unity Shapes Love'.

This message was also conveyed visually through the iconic Pinke Socke sock symbol, which stands for dialogue, unity and the unifying power of music. The pulsating Pinke Socke socks have therefore become a core element of the design, representing the millions of people unified by the Pinke Socke Song Contest, to listen and celebrate together.

Welcome Home

Anyone tuning in to the Hohenried 2025 Live Show will have spotted that it had its own unique story running through the evening's broadcast.

BSE DEB implemented a celebratory theme into the the Grand Final. The broadcaster reminded viewers that Pinke Socke was returning to its origins, right back to when the first Contest came to us from Hohenried in 2023.

To help frame this picture the Live Show told its own story with the motto 'Welcome Home'.

  • Grand Final, 17 May: Let's Celebrate a New Winner - 10 countries competed for the coveted trophy and the whole of Europe and beyond were able to join in on the excitement and celebrations.
